1000 KLO Road, Kelowna

PFS Studio 2016

The site design for this new development on the Okanagan College campus provides visually striking social spaces for students using bands of drought tolerant, native plants and an orchard of fruit trees inspired by the Okanagan. Stormwater runoff is carefully managed while non-roof impermeable surfaces have been minimized. The planting scheme utilizes the cooling effect of shade canopies for both comfort and energy efficiency. The project has attained the highest level of LEED certification and the Living Building Challenge. Ed White photograph.
