Don Vaughan first became involved in the Whistler Village project in 1975, participating in both the selection of the town site, and the initial site planning. Working with Eldon Beck, from San Francisco, he developed guidelines for a pedestrian- oriented street which features stone walls, cedar building finishes, sloping roofs, walkways and bay windows and the buildings themselves edges define the exterior spaces. The development of Blackcomb village in 1985 included the design and construction of a covered bridge over Fitzsimmon's Creek.
