UBC Botanical Garden was established in 1916 under the directorship of John Davidson, British Columbia's first provincial botanist, and is Canada's oldest continuously operating university botanic garden, The 1970's development included the food garden with it's extensive pergola, the E.H. Lohbrunner Alpine Garden, and the Physic Garden.
