Perry + Associates Landscape Architecture + Site Planning - 2013

The new U-Hill School has been created by combining a former National Research Council building with a new addition to its east side. Students are encouraged to gather outside in a series of outdoor amenity spaces that have south facing seating walls oriented towards the playing field. The landscape development also includes a large outdoor courtyard with benches and direct access from the technology lab, and a small teaching amphitheater on the northwest corner of the building. Rainwater ponds and swales provide habitat for a range of species, and serve as an educational tool.
