Dan Matsushita and Bill Livingstone 1972 - PWL Partnership 2007 - Sharp & Diamond Landscape Architecture with Cornelia Hahn Oberlander 2011
This prominent botanical garden inherited the site of the original Shaughnessy Golf Course, where through its first few decades Garden Director Roy Forster led the ongoing design of the original garden. In 2007 the Phyllis Bentall Garden was created, and today 3 acres are being restored and updated to accommodate a new Visitor Centre. The current design team is working in collaboration with Busby Perkins + Will Architects to create an international model for sustainable design, where the relationship between the building and the garden will culminate in an orchid inspired green roof. The project is registered for the Cascadia Living Building Challenge and LEED Platinum.
