Vaughan Durante Landscape Architects 1986

The design of Discovery Park began with the challenge of creating a park on the roof of an underground transit station, ending up as an integrated urban space that connects the station level with the street. Transit users arrive under a open glass pavilion within the park where they have the opportunity to sit on benches and take in the surrounding activity. This project received an award from the American Society of Landscape Architects in 1989.
