CSLA Regional Merit Award 2013

The Komagata Maru Memorial in Vancouver’s Harbour Green Park commemorates an infamous incident in 1914, during which the Canadian government denied entry to 376 Indian immigrants following their arrival aboard the steamship Komagata Maru. This striking landmark is constructed with glass and weathered steel. The lighting design by Kenneth Roepe of MMM Group utilizes recessed linear LED uplights that incorporate specially engineered optics to light the full height of the panels with minimal glare. The luminaires were chosen for long life, and minimal maintenance and energy use.
