Town and Gown Square is an important addtion to the urban open space at Simon Fraser University , and is the centerpiece of the new UniverCity Development. The Square incorporates public gathering areas, a performance area and several outdoor restaurant patios. The main feature of the plaza is a significant water feature set in the backdrop of a native coniferous forest which incorporates existing material. Plants have been selected for their suitability to the site with a focus on indigenous forest species.
