Fort-to-Fort Trail

Fort Langley, BC

Metro Vancouver: Dan Matsushita - 1997 Township of Langley: Wai Sue Louie, Yolanda Leung & Al Neufeld - 2001; DMG Landscape Architects - 2009

Since its completion in September 2001, the Fort-to-Fort Trail has connected the first Hudson’s Bay Fort with the Fort Langley National Historic Site. This multi-use trail follows the Fraser River, drawing people through Fort Langley – “the birthplace of BC”. A recent 1 km extension through the old cedar mill site features historic artefacts which celebrate the “working heritage” of the area, and new residential developments such as Bedford Landing ensure the trails are well used by joggers, walkers and cyclists.
