The Mahon Park Rehabilitation Project was initiated by the City of North Vancouver in 2001. Increasing concern about the environmental health and sustainability of highly valued recreational amenities in the park pointed to the need for a comprehensive approach to the rehabilitation and management. In 2003, Evergreen, a national non-profit environmental organization brought their expertise in community stewardship to the project and have continued to involve the community in a meaningful and tactile way.
