Hapa Collaborative - 2013

CSLA Regional Citation 2015

Located on a Middle Arm of the Fraser River, this unique development offers a play experience that evokes the form and character of the Terra Nova landscape: intertidal foreshore, dykes, remnant sloughs, and past and present agricultural use. The design arose from a public process that included Facilitator Lynne Werker, Big and Little Kids Groups, a team of advisors from two local schools. The project was a design-build collaboration between the City of Richmond and McDonald and Lawrence. It has produced a park that responds to its setting, its constituents, and the ‘imperfect grid’ formal language of Terra Nova.  Photo: Joshua Dool
