398 Harbour Road, Victoria, BC

Small & Rossell Landscape Architects - 2009

This commercial development on the waterfront houses an organic bakery, offices and coffee shop. The landscape amenities, which contribute to the LEED Platinum rating, include a green roof which marks the pre-industrial shoreline, an irrigation system fed by the on-site wastewater treatment system, a rain garden, terraced outdoor seating, and a footbridge connecting to the Galloping Goose Trail. A stone retaining wall features planting pockets, while an herb garden and native vines outside the bakery contribute to the comfort and beauty of the patio.
