SHIP'S POINT PLAZA

700 Wharf Street, Victoria, BC

LADR Landscape Architects 2010

Ship’s Point Plaza  celebrates the centennial of the Canadian Navy,  while revitalizing an aging and underused existing public space,  and providing a setting for Nathan Scott’s bronze statue “The Homecoming”. The  design is based on a radial land/sea and ship/sea metaphor that creates  views of the inner harbor and the Legislature buildings . The  popularity of  this plaza since its completion points to its success as a public space.
